About This Item

Chicago: Wilding Picture Productions, 1940. First Edition. First Edition. A volume produced by Wilding Picture Productions (also known as Wilding Studios), advertising their audiovisual communications services for industrial use.

Wilding was founded in Detroit in 1914, moving into the Essanay Building in Chicago in 1937. The company would become one of the largest producers of industrial films over the ensuing decades, and at one point operated out of Cleveland, Hollywood, Chicago, Detroit, and New York. Wilding is today best remembered for producing many of the US Armed Services' training and educational films during World War II.

Of particular note in the volume on offer are 37 pages of photographs of Wilding Studios, with sections dedicated to stages and sets, screening and recording rooms, processing laboratories, company players, and field recording.

Very Good plus in embossed leatherette wrappers, internally bound with three gold brads. Wrappers moderately creased, with a small chip on the top right corner of the front wrapper, and faint foxing on the endpapers.
