About This Item
433 Pages. Stated First Modern Library Edition.
This fun book of Smollett's creation comes in reddish boards with gold lettering and printing on them. The spine's printing is a tad faded, but only a tad, and the front cover has some wearing areas on it along with a darker verticle stain on the upper left quarter. The interior book, other than a former owner's name on the first inside page from the cover, has no further visible extraneous markings throughout it and thus all printing is in very well-preserved and enjoyable condition and the bindings of the book are still tight and sound.
This book will be carefully wrapped up and then boxed and sent right away to you from here in New Jersey and will come to you with our honest gratitude for your interest and your order.

Synopsis
The Expedition of Humphry Clinker was the last of the picaresque novels of Tobias Smollett, and is considered by many to be his best and funniest work. Published in London on 17 June 1771, it is an epistolary novel, presented in the form of letters written by six different characters: Matthew Bramble, a Welsh Squire; his sister Tabitha; their niece and nephew, Jery and Lydia Melford; Tabitha's maid Winifred Jenkins; and Lydia's suitor, Wilson.
