Slipcase 1 published in 1949; #1385 of 2500: (1) The Tale of Ali Baba & the Forty Thieves SIGNED by illustrator Edward Ardizzone; (2) The Ugly Duckling SIGNED by illustrator Everett Gee Jackson and general editor Jean Hersholt; and (3) The Sleeping Beauty in the Wood. Slipcase 2 published in 1951 nd 1952; #64 of 2000: (1) The Tale of King Midas and The Golden Touch SIGNED by illustrator Fritz Eichenberg; (2) Pandora's Box SIGNED by illustrator Rafaello Busoni; and (3) The Emperor's New Clothes SIGNED by illustrator Ervine Metzel, and traslator and general editor Jean Hersholt. Slipcase #3 published in 1952; #1379 of 2000: (1) The Whimsical History of Bluebeard SIGNED by general editor Jean Hersholt; (2) The Story of What Happened to Hansel and Gretel SIGNED by illustrator Henry C. Pitz; and (3) The Story of Jack and the Beanstalk SIGNED by Jean Hersholt re-teller and general editor. The books are fine, except for minute rubbing at the top of the spine and a tiny speck of rear of King Midas; all are clean, sauare and tight throughout. The slipcases are very good with some wear around the openings and at the spine labels; one has tape at the bottom of spine and some fading. Nine of 15 volumes in the complete set of these wonderfully illustrated classic children's tales.. Hardcover. Fine/Slipcase. Long Quarto.

The Chatham Bookseller began in 1968, and, in 1970, opened a store at its present location in Madison, NJ. The store contains over 10,000 books in over 80 different subjects, and favors good used books and good literature (both hardcover and paperback) over popular books and bestsellers. Our Internet business began in 2001. Upon visiting the store, we can show and sell individual online titles upon request. Store hours are 10:00-5:30 (Tues.-Sat.) and 11:00-4:00 (Sun.). The business is run by Richard Chalfin.
