New York: Mason Brothers, 5&7 Mercer Street, (1856). Illustrated by music notation, SATB, solo etc. parts as written. True First edition. Restored in-house by KTB as follows: original paper boards cleaned, deacidified, retained and edges restored to smooth; new J. Hewit acid free hand dyed red calf spine as the original; period ffep mould made endpapers added. Oblong (15x24,5cm). pp. 88. Very Good. Overall light toning throughout, several archival edge repairs. Copy of Harding Woods in quill on title page and daughter Carolyn in pencil beneth. A beautiful restored working copy of the true first edition of "Bradbury's only extended choral composition for which he alone wrote all the music". (L. M. Cook). Note: The LOC Oliver Ditson (Boston 1856, 94 pages) was immediated revised and adapted for dramatic presentation by R. W. Seager. His 3 page "Directions for Organization, Costuming, &c." were added in the beginning, and both Mendelssohn's Chorus "To God on High" and L. O. Emerson's [Romberg Collection] "Beautiful Are Thy Towers, O Zion adding 6 pages at the end...let the editing begin!..
