George Allen & Unwin Ltd, 1962. Hardcover. Acceptable/Good. 1962. First Edition. 339 pages. This is an ex-Library book. Blue dust jacket with black lettering over blue cloth with gilt lettering to spine. Ex-library with usual stamps, inserts and markings. With photographic frontispiece of Tolkien. Book has a slight smoky odour. Small liquid stain (approx. 3cm) to middle of first 5 or so pages including frontis, with slight warping. Minimal tanning to endpapers and page edges. Text block edges are a little tanned with minor scratches. Mild tape marks to endpapers. Mild wear to spine, board edges and corners, with sunning to spine and board edges. Tape remnants to boards. Dewey code to spine. Gilt is bright. Unclipped dust jacket. Mild wear to edges and corners. Minor sunning to spine and edges, with light soiling across the DJ. Dewey code and stickers to spine.
