About This Item

First UK Edition/First Printing; A Very Good book in a Good original dust jacket. A handsome copy of this seminal novel by one of the masters of 20th century literature, basis for the excellent movie starring Ralph Fiennes and Julianne Moore; scarce in the first edition. This copy is in very good condition with a square, tight binding, bright gold letters on mildly sunned gray boards, and clean o/w pages throughout; the book does show moderate shelf wear to the ends and edges and minor foxing to the page edges and free papers. Housed in a good original dust jacket that shows a loss of material at the spine head and the top of the front panel (approx. 1" x 1 1/2"), a couple of other smaller chips to the edges and corners, and moderate darkening to the spine end. Overall, a nice, presentable copy of a book difficult to find in the first edition with the original dust jacket. Not price clipped and not ex-library; in archival protection.
