London: Gall and Inglis, 1887. Presentation plate inside front board. No other marks or inscriptions. No creasing to covers or to spine. A very clean very tight copy with bright unmarked bevelled edge boards, very slight rubbing to spine ends and no bumping to corners. The very attractive front cover and spine are gilt, red and pale blue floral embossing on green and all page edges are gilt. All the examples of gilt are very bright and the page edges very glossy. 224pp. Christianity and morality intertwine this story of Amos Lawrence, a businessman with the Protestant ethic who was born around 1790 and died in 1852. Undated but date on presentation plate of 1887.. Hard Cover. Near Fine/No Jacket. 7 x 4.75 inches.
