Quarto, 421pp. Black morocco, raised bands, gilt printing on spine, gilt facsimile signature and coat of arms on cover, all gilt edges, marbled endpapers. Color frontispiece portrait, maps and plates. Black leather slipcase in near fine condition, lined with felt interior. A limited edition of 265 copies, this being number 86, signed by Field Marshal Montgomery on the title page. A beautiful binding by Zaehnsdorf. This leather-bound book was published to commemorate the 30th anniversary of the Battle of El Alamein. Along with the similarly bound History of Warfare by Montgomery, El Alamein is one of the most attractive copies of any World War II signed historical narratives. A beautiful addition to any collection.
