Adam & Charles Black, London, 1909. Book. Good. Hardcover. 1st Edition. First Edition (first printing). Royal 8vo. x, 221pp + [ii] publisher's advertisements. Decorated cloth lettered and ruled in gold at the spine and upper board. Top edge gilt. With a captioned tissue-protected colour frontispiece, 50 colour plates each with a captioned tissue-protector, and 11 line drawings in the text. The cloth soiled and a little rubbed, with some wear to the backstrip ends and the lower joint cracked but firm. The rear hinge cracked, and with some moisture staining to the endpapers margins. Edges lightly spotted, encroaching a fraction to the fore edge margins of occasional text leaves. Handsome Egyptian-style bookplate to the front pastedown. A good copy, with the magnificent plates all in super state..
