Carr was one of the key developers of the 1909 Plan of Chicago and President of Ryerson Steel, which had been a client of the Emerson Company, Emerson's quite successful consulting firm. Harrington Emerson, along with Frederick W. Taylor and Frank W. Gilbreth, was one of America's pioneers in industrial engineering and management and organizational theory. His major contributions include his concept of efficiency and installing his management methods at many industrial firms. A great Association Copy of this early and important work in the field.
