Slight toning on the board edges and a tear on the front board thus very good in a near fine dust jacket with edgewear and short tears. Basis for the excellent film directed by Martin Davidson with Tom Berenger, Ellen Barkin and Michael Paré in the title role as the leader of an innovative '60s rock band.

First Edition/First Printing; A Near Fine book in a Very Good dust jacket. A handsome copy of this author's 2nd novel, basis for the cult classic film; scarce in the first edition. This copy is in near fine condition with a square, tight binding, bright lettering over black and yellow boards, and clean white pages throughout; the book does show some light rubbing to the lower edges and a previous owner's name and address to the front free paper, else fine. Housed in a crisp and bright very good or better dust jacket that shows some mild rubbing and chipping to the spine ends and corners, and a couple of short closed tears and small chips to the back panel edges. Overall, a highly presentable and collectible copy of a rare book; Not remaindered, not price clipped ($10.95 intact), not ex-library; in a protective Mylar cover and will ship in a sturdy box.
