Bound in brown ribbed cloth with embossed and gilt decoration (dulled spine title); cloth is worn at foot and crown of spine and corners. Pre-lims moderately + foxed, but only scattered mild foxing within. A wonderful reference volume in the studies of Scriptures. Illustrated with b/w line drawings. Chapters include: Coins and Measures; Sacred Utensils; Sacred Places; Funeral Rites; Costumes and even 'Ovens' - Domestic Living; and more. Tight text block, An approx. 1/2" x 4" sliver has been cut from top of title page margin (presume to remove a previous owner name). 400 pages. Protected in a mylar slip.
