About This Item
McFarland, 2005. 1st Edition 1st Printing. Hardcover. Near Fine. First edition/printing. Almost Fine condition (very light almost invisible scratches on rear cover - probably from regular handling) without dust jacket as issued. Colour pictorial boards with front and back having different images of the "cucumber" creature from It Conquered the World. Inscribed on title page by Weaver, and possible association copy, to ("Bob") Bob Burns (noted SF and monster collector and interviewer) who is also acknowledged in the first sentence of the Preface. B&W photographs. Fascinating interview with SF people, actors to producers, including a piece on Gene Barry, who, when asked if he would accept an offer to appear in a War of the Worlds remake with Tom Cruise in 2005, agreed that he would, and lo and behold, Barry and Ann Robinson (the two original stars in the 1953 George Pal version) both cameoed near the end of that film as Cruise's family members!
