Olathe, KS: Charles R. Green, Historian and Publisher (1st Edition, January 1913 [though stated on front cover to be April, 1912], Green's Historical Series). Ex-museum copy, with call number sticker on front cover. Both boards creased and cracked full length of cover. Book is in rough condition, but is quite rare. Boards are age soiled and stained; edges and corners chipped and worn; spine extremities frayed. Text pages are toned; clean and unmarked. FFEP is pulling away from binding; RFEP loose and laid in. See our photos for condition.

About the Book: Part of Green's Historical Series, IN KEOKUK'S TIME ON THE KANSAS RESERVATION tells of various incidents pertaining to the Keokuks, the Sac & Fox Indians (Mississippi band) and tales of the early settlers and life on the Kansas reservation, located on the head waters of the Osage River, 1846-1870. Other books in the series include Annals of Lyndon: First Book; Along the Santa Fe and Lawrence Trails; Old Ridgeway, 1855-69; Leida Saylor's Story. The Old Sauk Indian, Quenemo. Henry Hudson Wiggans' Narrative; and others.

About the Author: Charles R. (Charles Ransley) Green (1845-1915) was born November 8, 1845 at Milan, Erie County, Ohio. He served in the Civil War and sustained injuries during the Battle of Chickamauga in September of 1863. According to the Surgeon's Certificate, Green suffered from gun shot wounds on both arms. At the time he was injured, Green was a private in Company A, 101st, Ohio Volunteer Infantry, and his age was listed as 17. Following the Civil War, Green began a career as a historian of American history, primarily focusing on Native Americans.
