New York: Thomas Nelson and Sons Inc., 1934. Brown cloth binding clean, square and tight - remains of tape marks on front and back covers and on endpapers. Ffep neatly removed, a few stains on blank endpapers. Blue marker on title page inking out library info, same on back blank endpaper. One library stamp to an interior page. Else pages are clean and bright. Binding very secure. DJ has small spine sticker, else very clean with no tears or wrinkles. 1934 on copyright page and title page - Dust jacket indicates 9th printing. Unpaginated. Hetty and her brother Hank want new shoes, so they set off from their home in the Blue Ridge Mountains to go down to town to sell turnips to pay for them. Their adventures along the way and the things they bring back up the mountain with them are told in pictures and story to delight boys and girls from four to six (and others, too!).. Illus. by Credle, Ellis. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. 1st. Hardcover. Good+/Very Good.
