New York, NY: MacMillan, Viking & The New American Library, 1965. [Spy novels] The FIRST AMERICAN BOOK CLUB EDITION. Octavo (22 x 15cm). Nine volumes. Publisher's black leatherette with gilt titles to spine and various coloured leatherette strips to fore-edges, various coloured topstains, 'girl and gun' jacket design against backgrounds of grey, blue and yellow. No ink names or writing, rubber ink stamp to flap of 'Dr.No' (offset to f.e.p.), some toning to edges, jackets have some small chips and tears to extremities, a few marks, two are sunned to spines. Generally a very good to near fine collection. This is the standard U.S. series, issued in the mid-1960s onwards. A total of James Bond titles were released in this set, which is complete as published. Alternate colours of binding trim and/or jacket exist for all titles. See Gilbert, Jon.
