Printed for T. Becket, J. Murray; J. Bew, J. Southern and Richardson and Urquhart, London, 1779. 6th Edition, improved and enlarged. Leather. Very Good Condition. Book Perry's treatise on kidney stones and their treatment. He presents the case for his "real Cure for the Stone, by a newly discovered specific Solvent" along with nine cases (Chap. VI, pp. 123-168). The "Strictures on the Gout" appears as Chapter VIII (pp 210-216) Michael E. Moran, in his 2013 article "Enlightened Minds and Stone Disease) in the journal Urolithiasis, lists Perry as one of the figures who were instrumental in bringing a scientific study to the treatment of kidney stones in the late 1700s Size: 6"-7" - Sextodecimo (16mo). 220 pages. Item Type: Book. Text block is tight, bright and unmarked. Leather binding with tooled bands in gilt on the spine. The label with the title is missing and has been replaced with the title on surgical tape(!). The front hinge is cracked, but holding; the rear hinge is worn, but tight. No foxing in this copy. Previous owner's signature in ink on the title page, wth the date 1929. All edges clean, neat and free of foxing. Quantity Available: 1.
