"This book contains 600 oriental rug names and explanations, correcting some past misdescriptions; a monograph on the importance of weave in the identification of rugs; 42 colour-plates of rugs with a further 42 showing details of the weave on the backs of the rugs; a unique relief map in colour showing the Silk Road, and the environment in which the rug craft flourished." .
