New York: Harper & Brothers, Publishers, 1872. First American edition. Hardcover. Good+. 8vo. [7], viii-xv, [3], 18-470, [2] (pages of publisher's advertisements), [2] pp. Blue publisher's cloth with a gilt decoration and black borders on the front board, black border on the rear board, gilt lettering on the spine. Brown coated endpapers and pastedowns. With maps and numerous illustrations from photographs and drawings taken on the spot of the Sinai survey expedition, and C.F. Tyrwhitt Drake. Several of the maps are folding. An informative account of regions in Egypt mentioned in the Bible. Rubbing to the extremities, the folding maps each have a tear, one of the folding maps with a dampspot. A few private owner's names on the front pastedown and endpaper.
