London: Thacker, Spink And Co., 1895. Cloth. Very Good. 7.5" by 5.5". None. A smart edition of the collection of poems from Rudyard Kipling, first printed in 1886. A very smart eighth edition of Rudyard Kipling's 'Departmental Ditties and Other Verses', containing such poems as 'The Plea of the Simla Dancers' and 'To the Unknown Goddess'. Kipling is known for his works of fiction, notably 'The Jungle Book' (1894) and 'The Man Who Would Be King' (1888). Twenty-four pages of adverts to the rear. In publisher's original pictorial binding, with gilt lettering to the spine. Externally, smart. Some very light rubbing to the extremities, particularly head and tail of the spine. Front hinge is starting. Very light marking to the front pastedown and endpaper. Blind stamp to the front endpaper. Internally, firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean with some light spots to the first and last few pages. Very Good
