About This Item
Thomas T. Taber III. ** 1ST EDITION, 1981 ** NUMBERED LIMITED EDITION - SIGNED BY AUTHOR ** VOLUME 2 ONLY ** OVERSIZED CLOTH-BOUND HARDCOVER ** VERY GOOD BOOK ** (GOOD) DUSTJACKET ** NOT A LIBRARY BOOK ** CLEAN, STAIN-FREE, UNMARKED ** DOZENS OF PHOTOGRAPHS ** ENDPAPER MAPS ** PLUS: ORIGINAL "PHOEBE SNOW" FOLD-OUT PAMPHLET OF PASSENGER ITINERARY & ROUTE LAID IN ** Published by Thomas T. Taber III, 1981, with 396 pages, 4to (quarto). This is book #1991. SIGNED by Thomas T. Taber III on the title page. Very well-made book, bound in sturdy cloth-covered boards with embossed gilt lettering on the spine. The exterior cloth binding shows only slight wear at the bottom of the spine, otherwise cloth appears nearly as crisp and fresh as new. The book has no major flaws, but does show very occasional, brief, quite minor signs of use and age (age speckles on the top exterior page edges). The book is clean and stain-free, square and straight, firm in its binding, no pages are loose, missing, folded, or torn (book remains firm in its binding, but is no longer as tight as new). The hinges are sound and undamaged, the corners are sharp and unbumped. All pages are clean and stain-free, and all text and photographs are sharp and legible. There is no writing, underlining, highlighting, or any other such markings in the book (aside from author's signature). The dustjacket has scattered light edgewear, some light age foxing to the spine, and appears to be a tad age-toned. There is a short closed edge-tear at the top edge of the front jacket panel, and wear and tearing at the top of the jacket spine. That said, the jacket is otherwise intact and complete, and is clean and stain-free. The itinerary and route pamphlet is for the Phoebe Snow Daylight Trip from New York City to Buffalo. The pamphlet unfolds into 5 panels, each of the 5 printed on both sides. The rarely seen pamphlet is clean, complete, and intact, and shows only light occasional signs of use.
