New York: Charles Scribner's Sons, 1893., 1893.. Very good. - Octavo, blue cloth titled in gilt with decorations in gilt on the front cover. The binding is lightly rubbed & the spine is slightly darkened. v, [iii] & 341 pages plus 2-page publisher's catalog. Illustrated in black & white with 9 plates with tissue guards, including a frontispiece, from portraits by Lely, Kneller & others. A previous owner's bookplate is mounted on the front pastedown & there are a few stains to the pastedown & endpaper. The bottom corner of page 225 is mis-cut. Very good. <p>First American edition.
