New York: A. S. Seer Printing Co, [ca. 1890]. 8vo (21.5 cm), pictorial printed wrappers. 6pp, numerous b&w illus. A scarce 1880's program for Daniel Frohman's stage production of Mark Twain's The Prince and the Pauper, starring child actress Elsie Leslie. Consists mainly of a synopsis of the plot with illustrations. Playbills reading "The Auditorium, Friday Evening, Jan. 1," etc. are printed on both sides of the back wrapper. CONDITION: Fair with chipping at extremities, soiling on front and back panels, 3 cm tears at center top and bottom throughout, notes in pencil on back panel with references to Shirley Temple 1925 and more. Interior clean with appealing illus.
