About This Item
Tokyo: Akio Nagasawa Publishing, 2008. Folio. Near Fine. Daido Moriyama. 1st edition of reprint collection, 2008. Near Fine folio with Fine contents. Small Folio. (4) 20pp., 16pp. and three 12pp., text in Japanese. Original gray cardboard portfolio with blind-stamped lettering housing folded publisher's information sheet and reprints of the first five issues of Moriyama's photo-magazine "Record," privately published in 1972 and 1973. Very light/minor shelf wear, otherwise clean and unmarked. "I liked Sommerset Maugham's phrase that when it rains, you should write that it rained. That's why I started "Record" 36 years ago at the age of 34. I probably also thought of photography that way. And now it suddenly all comes back to me: the nameless light, the city, the time." (Moriyama).
