239 pages with 2 plates, diagrams and index. Small octavo (7 1/2 x 5 1/4") bound in original publisher's red cloth with gilt lettering to spine and cover. A C White's Christmas series number 26. (Betts: 33-22)First edition.
Contains a biographical sketch of Densmore, by Sim, a 62 page study of his problems by Hume (including 80 examples), 54 further examples of his work (chiefly 3 movers, 4 movers and self mates), an 85 problems by various composers entered in the memorial Tourney. Solutions appear on pages 223-235. Includes an index of composers.
Condition: Previous owner's name to front end paper. Corners bumped, old book-sellers label to front paste-down else a very good copy.
