Octavo, 432pp. Quarter blue morocco, raised bands, title in gilt. Top edge gilt, marbled endpapers. Later printing, as noted on copyright page. Clean text throughout. An attractive example. The Counterfeiters was first published in 1925 in France, under the title Les Faux-monnayeurs. It was translated to English in 1926 and published by Alfred A. Knopf. The author, André Gide, won the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1947.
