Memoirs of the Bernice Pauahi Bishop Museum, Volume VIII, No. 4. Measure 9x12.5 inches, with chipping on edge, sun fading, and bends on cover. Cover embrossed with previous owner's name. 30p plus 3 pages of plates. Some pages have uncut at edges. Somatology is a branch of anthropology primarily concerned with the comparative study of human evolution, variation, and classification especially through measurement and observation. The Bayard Dominick expedition was a 1920 scientific expedition to the Pacific islands of Polynesia, with four teams sent to compile archaeological and anthropological surveys of the Marquesas, Tonga, Austral Islands, and Hawai'i.
