This is a Near Fine Copy of this Book in a Handsome half dark blue leather binding over marbled boards.With original frontispiece of gentleman and Lady sitting fishing on a riverbank and with some fishing flies underneath.The book has a Firm binding with no hinge weakness and the contents remain really remarkably clean.The Author;s name is crossed out to the title page and neatly in ink alongside is the name of John Mather Senior written in.There is one small previous name on the verso of the frontipiece.There are many interesting Chapters including a list of materials required for the angler,the names of different artificial flies and the manner of dubbing,the game laws relating to angling,the principal rivers in England,a description of fishes and the best methods of breeding and feeding Carp,and much more.This copy was acquired from an impressive library of fishing books with many more yet to be listed.Uncommon title in excellent condition,small 8vo 186pp + 6 pages of Crosby adverts to the rear of the book 5th Edition Carefully Revised [1802] .
