Usa: Mysterious Press, 1987. First Thus. Hardcover. Good/Good. 8vo - over 7. Type: Hardback First Mysterious Press Printing. Hardcover Ex-Lib Book and Jacket in Good+ Condition. Mylar jacket cover. 137 pages. Except for usual lib marks, book is very clean and unmarked, slight rubbing of lower board edges, pages clean, no marks, no tears. Many illustrations. Jacket is lightly soiled in two small places, a few pin-like marks near lower edge, just a touch of edgewear, with a portrait of Doyle on front. Author/critic Julian Symons has written a sympathetic portrait of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, a concise and readable introduction to the man and his works--the creator of Sherlock Holmes.
