Chapter references. Index. The author purports that nationalized medicine, "The Welfare State" is the beginning of "The Police State". An educator and economist, author Melchior Palyi witnessed power politics in his native Hungary, before becoming an American citizen. In an internationally post World War II wary climate of emerging socialism, the publisher notes of nationalized medical services, "If implemented here, they ultimately would mean for America the blind confusion that is Europe, the tragic austerity that is England, and the Godless despair that is Russia". In his last chapter of 15, Palyi subtitles 2 sections as "Authoritarians Turning Red" and "Professions Losing Status". "References by chapters": p. 147-152.
