Harper & Brothers, 1855. Half-Leather. Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall. Seven volumes, smooth chocolate brown half-leather, purple cloth boards, raised spines, gilt lettering very bright, small black design stamped into spine segments with brown and green leather backgrounds for title and volume numbers, marbled exterior page edges, marbled beautifully inside covers and adjacent end papers, ink last name on the third front end papers, each volume has a different illustration from engraving on tissue-covered title page. Light foxing through volumes. Volume I: Frontispiece engraving of More with facsimile note and signature, 416 pages, light surface wear to tips. Volume II: 428 pages, very tiny nick at spine top right, very slight surface wear to bottom tips. Volume III: 442 pages, slight surface wear to front tips, light surface wear to spine edges. Volume IV: 448 pages, very slight surface wear to back tips, very tiny surface tear at top front left on leather next to spine, two very tiny nicks at spine bottom left edge and spine bottom right edge, short surface tear at top back right on leather. Volume V: 393 pages, very light surface wear to tips. Volume VI: 439 pages, microtear at top front tip, very tiny scratch at top front left next to spine on leather, very slight surface wear at bottom front left on leather, very light scratch at spine bottom left. Volume VII: 429 pages, slight surface wear to front tips, very slight surface wear to top back tip and nearby edge. Small embossed bookstore stamp for Sprague Booksellers of Albany at the tops of the second front end papers. Near Very Good to Very Good set.
