About This Item
Thomas Y. Crowell & Co, 1894. Hardcover. Acceptable. No DJ. Suede leather covers, with areas of dirty spots. Edges worn, with more significant wearing along edge of back board. Bumped spine at top and bottom and all corners bumped. Gilt edges to text block have faded somewhat, but still shiny, however with a couple of scratches and blotches and worn through to the red edge of pages. The bottom two inches of text block has slight noticeable wave to it, at some point might have been dropped on the lower corner of book. End papers are printed with green and gold floral design. The pages have yellowed and become fragile, with small tears in middle of a page or two. Fly leaves, blank pages at the back of book, the frontis piece, and title pages are foxed and browned, with dark smudges. The whole book is reminiscent of a Bible. Between two pages there is a dark tanned spot where some kind of bookmark or something had been, leaving kind of a ghost outline.
