Pittsburgh: Bakewell & Marthens, 1874. First printing. Hardcover. Very Good. First edition, 1874, tall 8vo (9 inches), straight grained orange cloth, gilt titled on cover, frontispiece of Mrs. Hannah, 56 pp, very good with light foxing to first few pages, minor shelfwear and soil to covers. RARE with one copy in OCLC at the American Antiquarian Society. The Seminary, in Washington, PA was first opened in 1836. Hanna was principal from 1840-1874 and then retired. The most famous graduate of the seminary was Rebecca Harding Davis, in 1848.
