HB. 7 vols, 8vo, late 19 century, full polished calf, dec. gilt border to boards and turn-ins, raised bands to spines, gilt tooling to compartments, leather title pieces, marbled endpapers, aeg. Some foxing/spotting to endpapers/prelims and occasionally elsewhere, but mostly clean. Small perforation to one leaf with loss of a few letters of text. Duplicated typescript list of Plates of eggs tipped in at rear of each volume. Bookplates of James S. North, from a design by C. Haldane Macfall dated 1901. A fine set.. First octavo edition, complete in 7 volumes. Fine hand-coloured plates of birds (322) and eggs (103). Also with cancel of plate facing p. 50 in Vol. II.Nissen IVB 628..
