About This Item

London: Frederick Muller Ltd, 1956. 1st Edition 2nd Printing. Hardcover. Very Good/Very Good. 8vo - over 7¾ - 9¾" tall. First edition second printing, October 1956. Hardback book is tight and clean, with gentle lean. Boards sharp and clean. Title gilt bright and unrubbed. Lightly bumped spine ends. Text block clean, and tight with very light toning to edges. Pages are crisp and clean. Feels read, but still tight. Grades very good. Jacket has very bold colours, with minimal rubbing, and no losses. There is a 20mm closed tear to top edge of the front panel, and 20mm tear to foot of front joint, both with associated light creasing. The spine has light rubbing to ends. The rear white panel has some feint grubbiness. Jacket also grades very good. For grading accuracy books are photographed without a protective book cover. This book is fitted with a non adhesive archival quality book protector to make a worthy addition to your collection. Note we do not use stock images, the book pictured is the book described. More images of this book are available please contact us if you require them. An attractive and clean copy of this early Clarke title, that looks great on the shelf in the fitted archival cover. A second printing that will be a great addition a Clarke collection.
