About This Item
London: Hutchinson & Co., [1931]. Hardcover. very good. 1st UK Edition. xv,(19)-287, (12) pp.. Octavo. Original light grey course cloth with red titls and red chain work decoration. Spine very slightly faded. Original endpapers. Half title. Old unobtrusive ownership name on the title page. Top edge a bit dust soiled. Text block generally very clean. Original unprice clipped (7/6) dust wrapper. The ads are dated Spring of 1931 The wrapper is complete but has had some very good professional restoration on one of the corners. This is the second in the Captain Bllood series. Sabatini's tales of pirates and swash buckling stirred the hearts of many a young lad. Errol Flynn played the role of Captain Blood in the 1935 movie of the same name with Olivia DeHavilland starring opposite him-- a great movie to watch. Very uncommon in the original wrapper especially in this condition. 1931
