Soundly bound in original brown cloth with elaborate decorative pictorial design to sides and spine, gilt at spine and front and in blind to rear. All edges gilt. Cloth with shallow loss at spine ends and with gilt design a little dulled and rubbed at spine. Corners lightly shelf bumped with mild fray to cloth at tips. Bound with an extra engraved title page and five tissue guarded plates engraved by Sartain. Scattered light spotting and foxing. Prior ownership 1849 gift inscription lined through and replaced with a subsequent owner name. VG- .
