A first edition of the work.In the publisher's original cloth with gilt details and text.With a frontispiece and 31 colour plates. Collated Complete.This work is writer by artist and writer Dion Clayton Calthrop. Publisher's advertisements to the rear. A beautifully illustrated work on gardens including trees, cottage gardens, town gardens. The work also contains informative chapters on the history of gardens. In the publisher's original cloth. Externally very smart with minor marks, slight fading to the spine, bumping to the tail of the spine and light rubbing to the joints and extremities. Very minimal loss to the cloth to the front joint. Light offsetting to the free end papers with an old ink inscription to the front dated 1911. Internally firmly bound with bright and generally clean pages with the odd spot, slightly heavier to the rear. Light age toning to the fore edge. Very Good

Where are We?
Based in the literary city of Bath, our offices are housed in the Eastern Dispensary. Built in 1845, the building originally existed as a charitable institution providing medical care. The building now houses our collection of over twenty thousand books and has five full time members of staff.
