Indianapolis: The Bobbs-Merrill Company, Publishers. Very Good in Good dust jacket. 1930. First Edition. Hardcover. 334 pages; Width: 5.75" Height: 7.75". Earl Derr Biggers was an American novelist and playwright. He is remembered primarily for his novels, especially those featuring the fictional Chinese American detective Charlie Chan, from which popular films were made in the United States and China. Width: 5.75" Height: 7.75". Bound in yellow cloth with stamped black lettering to the spine and front cover. The book shows modest external wear, with minor fraying and some darkening at the edges of the covers. The binding is firm The endpaper has been capably replaced. The pages are clean and without markings. The intact dust jacket, with the price of $2.00 on the front flap, has loss of the bottom quarter of the spine and the top right corner of the spine panel. There are small tears at the edges and corners of the panels. The covers are lightly soiled, rubbed and the color illustrated front panel displays rubbing. Dust jacket is uncommon.
