Metropolitan Museum of Art, 1929. First Edition. Fine. Fine. Limited edition of 900 copies. Double slipcased. First slipcase bound in burgundy leather contains the second. The second slipcase, also in burgundy leather, contains unbound signatures of text and illustration. Short tear to first page of first signature. All else in fine condition. Outer slipcase has light wear and a tear at one edge. From Wikipedia: Bashford Dean was an American zoologist specializing in ichthyology, as well as an expert in medieval and modern armor. He is the only person to have held concurrent positions at the American Museum of Natural History and the Metropolitan Museum of Art, where he was Honorary Curator of Arms and Armor; the Metropolitan Museum purchased his collection of arms and armor after his death in 1928. 4to.
