Clean, unmarked, tight, solid book. Black cloth binding with blind-stamp publisher's device on front, gilt titles and decoration on spine. Slight wear to lower corners and spine ends. Spine is discolored with slightly lighter spotting. Pages intact, clean, no marks, no creases--nearly as new. "Catalina" is novella. It is a story of the manners and exploits of the time, a compound of irony and romance. Synopsis
W. Somerset Maugham was born in Paris in 1874. He began to study medicine in London but quit to focus exclusively on writing. In 1926 he bought a house in Cap Ferrat, France, which was to become a meeting place for a number of writers, artists and politicians. He died in 1965.
