This revised edition had been enhanced with additional, beautiful and "originally drawings by the best artists" (title). These volumes are titled: Volumes I-VIII: From the Roman Invasion to the Wars of the Roses; From the Wars of the Roses to the Great Rebellion’ From the Great Rebellion to the Fall of Marlborough; From the Fall of Marlborough to the Peninsular War; From the Peninsular War to the Death of Sir Robert Peel; From the Death of Sir Robert Peel to the Illness of the Prince of Wales; From the Illness of the Prince of Wales to the British Occupation of Egypt; From the British Occupation of Egypt to the Death of Mr. Gladstone. Laid in are at least two leaves of advertisements including one from Cassell & Company publishers, for the Thanksgiving Service at St. Paul’s Cathedral on Diamond Jubilee Day, June 22, 1897. Another sheet is a tipped in insert to Vol. III, from the Koko-Maricopas Co., Ltd., to prevent graying of hair and "prevents hair falling"
