Victoria, British Columbia, Canada: The Haunted Bookshop, 1979. Book. Near fine condition. Hardcover. First Edition. Octavo (8vo). 264 pages with index. Hardcover binding in almost new condition. Map illustrated dustjacket; price-clipped and slightly shelfworn; protected in archival mylar. Illustrated with historic photographs and a large folding "Map of the Gold Regions in British Columbia" compiled from sketches and information by James Douglas, C. B. Governor of B.C. and Vancouver Island, and from data obtained from the miner Gust[avas] Epner in 1862. First thus edition; number 968 of 1000 copies signed by Eleanor Eastick, who researched, annotated and indexed this never before published work written in the 1920's. Under the name on the dedication page (To Jack Barnes) is written in Eastick's hand "September 16, 1899 - May 2, 1985.".
