Mylar-wrapped dust jacket; price clipped; black lettering on front cover and spine, and blue quilt-patterned band around lower half of front cover and spine, with a thin red stripe at the bottom edge; cover is in very good condition for age, with only a few small tears toward spine and creases around edges; slightly toned. Navy blue cloth boards; gilt lettering on spine; front cover blind stamped with a quilted pattern and gilt embossed with patriotic eagle design. Bottom corner bumped; all corners slightly rubbed; light dust soiling to top edge of text block; deckled fore-edge. Decorative end papers depict a map of France, England, and the English Channel, with types of seafaring ships illustrated in black and blue ink surrounding the map. Interior book clean; tight binding; pages slightly toned. Kenneth Roberts (1885 - 1957) was an American journalist and author of historical novels. Captain Caution follows the interactions of colorful English, French and American characters during the war of 1812.; 12mo 7" - 7½" tall; 310 pp .
