London: Hildesheimer & Faulkner. Pictorial Hardback Cover. Good+. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall. Havers, Alice & Ernest Wilson. 64pp. Color & duotone plates. Published ca 1885 (Gift inscription dated 1887). Occasional foxing. Internal binding is weak along lower 2", but complete in case. Boards have moderate edgewear & rubbing, light soil, but onj the whole the book & plates are quite attractive for 120 yr old children's volume. Unusual So. African setting, in places reflecting the racial attitudes of the time.
