London: Adam & Charles Black, 1939. Book. Very Good. Hardcover. First Edition. 280mm Tall; 4to. British mountaineer and photographer Francis Sydney Smythe elevates mountain photography to an art. With 65 photographs by the author taken in the British Hills and the Swiss Alps. Excellent photographs with that lovely 1930s quality thats hard to reproduce today. Several tears to dust jacket on back and front with small loss top/tail of spine and corners; some brown stains on the back. Book covers have white marks on top and bottom edges. Small bookshop stamp at base of front free endpaper..
