Map on final page; profusely illustrated with line-drawings in the margins and some full-page; 176 pp. 12mo, original wrappers (front pictorial) adhered to book-boards, cloth spine and inner hinges supplied by previous owner: bookplate of Robert W. Jones on supplied front pastedown and note by Jones on the supplied front free endpaper. The previous owner, Robert W. Jones (1884–1951) was a professor of journalism, at the University of Washington, and a Member of the Missouri Bar. He was the author of: The Law of Journalism: including matters relating to the freedom of the press, libel, contempt of court, property rights in news, and regulation of advertising. Washington, D.C.: Washington Law Book Co., 1940. On the front free endpaper is his note: “In 1901 I went from Columbia, Mo., to Trinidad, Colo., on the Santa Fe, the first trip alone, and worked on the Trinidad Daily Advertiser. This was the current travel book and I read it then, for the first time”He also signed the front pastedown “Robert W. Jones, | Columbus, Mo.”.
