First hardcover edition, with dust jacket. Published by Dustin, 1998. An in-depth review of art in California, from the Spanish explorers of the 1540's through the late 20th Century. Just a few of the hundreds of artists represented; Alexander Calder, Edward Weston, Mabel Alvarez, John Hubbard Rich, Victor Arnautoff, Charles Kassler, Richard Diebenkorn, Robert Rauschenburg, Raymond Pettibon, Roy De Forest, Edward Ruscha and many more as well. Nancy Moure was the Assistant Curator of American art at the Los Angeles County Museum. Sturdy, brick red colored cloth covered boards, sewn binding, 9-1/2" X 12-1/2". Heavy weight, coated stock paper. 560 pages, 475 color illustrations, 45 black & white illustrations. Includes Index, Monographs, and Timeline. This copy is not a remainder, not a library discard. No former ownership marks, no writing on the text pages. Top edge of the text block has a few small dots of age tanning. Cover boards are flat, the corners are not bumped or creased. The dust jacket is intact and is not price clipped. There is a closed tear to the jacket at the top right edge of the back panel - about 1-3/4" long. Jacket has been protected with a clear, removable cover. Attached photos are of the copy we have in our inventory.
