The jacket is in three pieces, is missing most of the spine, and has other chips and tears. The illustrations on the front and rear panel of Caleb with a shock of red hair are bright and complete. Illustrations by Georg T. Hartmann.

A book referred to admiringly by Robert Heinlein as an early inspiration for his work. Advance copy, similar to regularly published book but with a small review slip pasted to flyleaf at left edge indicating that the book would be published 10/20/36, and scarce thus. The book is near fine, although a little dusty at the edges. The dust jacket complete but a little age-darkened at edges, with a few tiny chips and short closed tears at top and bottom edges.
