London: William Smith, 1847.. 4to. Original green cloth, spine and front cover designed in gilt. Yellow coated end papers. Sixty hand-coloured lithographic plates, most with the tissue guards intact. The binding is rough, with old repairs to the outer front hinge, as well as the inner hinges; tape residue on the inner front hinge, back cover dampstruck. Plates are clean and attractive, occasional very light foxing, slight wear to the outer margin of the final plate. An early printing; the first edition was dated 1846. This copy has the imprint of William Smith, but at the base of the spine has "Wm. S. Orr & Co"
